Activating Your
Phone:
Your phone will have a pre-assigned mobile number and
will be ready to use straight out of the package, no activation is
necessary. Simply insert the SIM in your phone, enter the pin number
(if prompted), press send and your SIM is ready to use.
Your mobile phone number will start with country code 423 (Liechenstein).
Callers from the USA would dial: 011-423-XX and the rest of your number to
reach you in over 145 countries around the world. Our optional SmartForward
service offers a dedicated inbound USA telephone number. Our optional
Country Specific Virtual Telephone Number Service offers
57 other country numbers that you can purchase now for your
inbound SmartFree SIM callers.
Placing a Call
with the SmartFree SIM:
To make a call with your SmartFree SIM, you will
dial a Plus (+) symbol, the country code and then the number and then
press SEND or YES.
Instead of putting the phone to your ear immediately, wait about two
seconds and then the phone will ring back, alerting you to answer the
phone, press the SEND or YES key and you will hear your call go through.
In these few seconds, the SmartFree SIM calls you back and you control
the calling rate per minute and save.
Note: When calling from the USA
to your SmartFree international number, callers will have to dial 011
followed by your SmartFree number.
The Smartfree SIM card has
been very popular because it is one of the ONLY global roaming SIM cards
with FREE incoming calls. The SmartFree Global SIM card
only needs to be reloaded once every 9 months for you to retain any unused
minutes. If you purchase a reload within 9 months, any unused minutes roll over.
If you do not reload your SIM within 12 months, your SIM will expire and your phone number will be recycled.
The SmartFree Starter SIM Card comes with about 30
outgoing minutes and all the incoming minutes you want (Zone 1 and
2). The SmartFree Preloaded SIM Card comes with
approximately 2.4 hours of outgoing and all the incoming minutes you want
(Zone 1 and 2).
Using Optional GPRS Data Roaming With Your SmartFree
SIM
Detailed below are the GPRS data settings for the SmartFree global
roaming SIM. Please note that the carrier does not list all available
unlocked GSM phones as compatible with this service. We cannot
guarantee the correctness or validity of the GPRS settings published
below and therefore cannot guarantee that the GPRS settings below will
work with your phone.
It is also worth noting that the SmartFree SIM requires that GPRS
services are activated before GPRS services can be accessed via a
mobile phone, therefore you should check with us to make sure that you
have GPRS activated on your phone account before attempting to change
GPRS settings on your phone.
Please make sure that you write down your old GPRS settings if your
phone can only store one set of GPRS settings at a time before you
make changes so that you can easily restore the original settings
after returning from your trip.
Below are the required fields needed to set up your phones WAP/GPRS
data settings if your phone does not pull the settings automatically
from the SIM.

profile to change your GPRS data settings if your unsure how to get

Troubleshooting/Changing
Networks:
Your SmartFree SIM can be used on multiple carrier networks in most
countries. From time to time it may be necessary to switch networks
for best results. For example, we have found Orange of France to be an
excellent carrier in all areas of France except Paris where customers
have reported better results on other networks. In Italy, other users
have found that Wind works extremely well, while receiving incoming on
Vodaphone it is more difficult. To learn how to switch networks on your
phone, consult your phone's manual or call the sales office during normal business hours. Our sales office can be reached at +1-703-222-7161 and can also help with technical support, customer service and coverage information.
Reloads are available from InTouch
Smartcards. You can also call our reload center +1-703-620-0879 for reloads. The reload center offers
extended daily operating hours and weekends.
