| | Do You Have an Unlocked GSM Phone? To use this service, you will need an unlocked GSM cell phone with the correct band. The 900 MHz frequency is used in Niger. If you purchased your GSM cell phone from a carrier it may be SIM-locked which means only SIM cards from that specific carrier can be used in your phone.
When you purchase our SIM card you will also have the option to purchase a Siemens Tri-Band World Phone for only $99, a special promotional rate only available to customers who purchase this SIM card. With our SmartFree SIM Card for Niger, all incoming calls are free. The SmartFree SIM Card for Niger normally costs $59.99 but is available now at a discount. Unlike many country specific SIM cards, this SIM card only needs to be reloaded once every 9 months to remain active. When it is time to reload you can simply call us and we will add the reload directly to your account. | | Your airtime can be used for 9 months from your last recharge or initial activation. If airtime credit is not added during the 12th month, the SIM card will be de-activated and the phone number will be recycled. To avoid this, and have the SIM card ready for your next trip, simply purchase a small reload or pass the SIM card on to a friend. |

| | Making calls using your SIM card To make a call, simply dial a "Plus" (+) symbol, the country code, the phone number and then press the "Send" or "Yes" key.
Instead of putting the phone to your ear immediately, wait about two seconds and the phone will ring back, alerting you to answer the phone. Press the "Send" or "Yes" key and you will hear your call go through.
Just dial a Plus (+) symbol, the country code, the city code, and then the phone number (country code is "1" for the US) and the "Send" or "Yes" key to reach any number.
In these few seconds, the SIM card calls you back. This allows you to control the calling rate per minute and save.
Please Note: When calling from the US to your SIM card's international number, callers will have to dial "011" followed by your number. We also offer a US based number. For more information,

Text messages (SMS) - incoming SMS messages are always FREE
The SmartFree SIM Card for Niger can send and receive text messages both within Niger and back to most US carriers. You will not be able to send SMS messages once your available credit falls below 3 Euros. If your phone requires a message center number, please call us at 1-800-872-7626 x0 for instructions.
Voicemail
Simply dial "077" then press the "Send" or "Yes" key to listen to messages received. Follow the voice instructions to change your voice mail settings.
Checking your balance
To check your balance credit, simply dial "089" then press the "Send" or "Yes" key, and follow the voice instructions.
Adding credit/Purchasing reloads
